BEGINNING HEIRLOOM SEWING TECHNIQUES BABY QUILT - 6 Hours

Learn basic heirloom sewing by machine techniques while making this baby quilt. Techniques include joining lace to lace, lace to fabric (two methods), shaped lace (curves and miters), shadow appliqué, and shaped double-needle pintucks. You will use white cotton batiste, cotton laces, and embroidered batiste insertion. The techniques are stitched on the cotton batiste, which is then layered over your choice of fabric for the underlayer, which shadows through the semi-sheer batiste. Decorative machine stitching accents the quilt.

This project requires a zigzag sewing machine with some decorative stitches. Skill level – advanced beginner and above.
